Uniform and PE Kit
The wearing of a uniform encourages children to appreciate the distinction between coming to school, which is a place of work and leisure activities where more casual clothing is appropriate. A good standard of dress is encouraged at all times and is essential when a child is representing the school at various trips and outings.

*School Uniform
New guidance has been released around school uniform and the financial impact of COVID19 on some families. For some the ability of families to purchase new uniforms and/or shoes at the moment may be too much. If this sounds like you and you are in need of financial support to the Essential Living Fund: Apply online or call 0300 7900124 between 8:45am – 5:00pm.*
P.E. Games and Swimming
All children are expected to change fully into the correct clothing for P.E., games and swimming as these lessons are part of the national curriculum and it is therefore essential that ALL children take part.
For P.E. and Games
Each pupil will require a pair of plimsolls or trainers, a plain T-shirt and black shorts.
For Outdoor Games in Winter
It is advisable to have either a tracksuit or an old jumper.
For Swimming
All children will require a costume/trunks, towel and swimming hat in a waterproof bag. Hats are available from the school office. (Trunks must be tight fitting and no longer than your child’s knees. Boys with long hair will also require a swimming hat)
IMPORTANT – Please make sure that ALL items of clothing are clearly marked/labelled with the child’s name.
Jewellery and earrings
All jewellery needs to be removed for PE – this includes swimming. Taping for any reason is not allowed under the Essex County Council Health and Safety Policy. On PE days, please come to school without earrings in. If earrings cannot be removed, your child won’t be able to participate. With this in mind, if you intend to have your child’s ears pierced, we recommend you do this at the start of the summer holidays, allowing time for them to heal and for the earrings to be safely removed without closing. Bracelets and necklaces should not be worn, but children may wear a watch if they wish to.
