The children of the School Council visited the patrons of Kent View Community Centre today. They spent time chatting with the older clients and also enjoyed singing for them too. Both the clients and children had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to visit with them again. Click the link below to view the photos:

Book Week 2018 – Due to the adverse weather last week, our Book Week celebratory assembly had to be postponed, but today we celebrated in style! The children, and adults, dressed as their favourite book character, or in their pyjamas. We also had a photography competition; the children had to photograph themselves reading in the most obscure places. The winners were announced in the special assembly today and received their prizes – congratulations to all of you! Click here to view some of the photos.
KS2 Spelling & Grammar Competition – On Monday, four of our pupils took part in a Key Stage 2 Grammar and spelling competition. They competed as a team against 9 other local primary schools in a bid to reach the grand final. The children were fantastic, achieving the highest scores out of all of the schools in the speed spelling and punctuation rounds. Overall, they finished in 3rd place. A fantastic result!! It is now a waiting game to see if our high score is enough to gain us a pass into the final as a highest scoring runner up. Fingers crossed!
Number Day 2018 – click here to see some photos of the day. This morning we invited parents and carers to come into school and share our Number Day with us. There were lots of quizzing and activities – all number based. The children and staff also dressed with a number theme.
We held our annual Enterprise Day last Friday and it was a resounding success! The children from each class had a budget and created an activity, or made some crafty items or tasty treats to sell at the Enterprise Day sale. The idea was to make a profit. The children had to work out what to spend and then what to charge, to make a reasonable profit. The older children then also helped the younger children to sell and buy some items during the event. We are so proud of everyone who took part and can’t wait to hear who made the largest profit! The proceeds will be split between chosen charities and other good causes chosen by the children themselves. Click the image above to view the photos.
The Fabulous Glee Club were invited to sing at the local Vange Community Christmas Extravaganza and despite a slight technical hitch, they were a great hit! Well done to all, we are very proud!
And here is a thank you letter from the Vange Community Christmas Extravaganza: Good Morning Miss Gilmartin
